In the New Test Series against Big Team Australia.Indian Batsmen Fumbled in the First Test in Pune. India won the toss and skipper Kohli elected to bowl first. The Aussie openers played well in the First innings the openers kept 82 runs healthy first wicket partnership .Warner scored 38 runs and got out at score 82/1 and the Matt Renshaw got retired hurt and Shaun Marsh and Steve smith they both added 30 odd runs for second wicket Marsh scored 16 runs and got out at score 119/2. Handscomb scored 22 runs and got out at score 149/3 and Australia lost two quick wickets the skipper Smith wicket and Handscomb wicket .Smith scored 27 runs and got out at score 149/4.Marsh scored only 4 runs and got out at score 166/5 .Matthew Wade scored 8 runs and got out at score 190/6.Mitchell Starc scored 61 runs .Matt Renshaw scored 68 runs and got out at score 196/7. Keefe got out without scoring 205/8. Lyon got out without scoring and got out at score 205/9. Starc scored 61 runs and got out at score 260/10.
And reply to the Australia total Indian batsmen fumbled in the first innings only Lokesh Rahul scored 64 runs and skipper Kohli got out without scoring a run.only three Indian batsmen scored two digit runs and India failed to built partnerships. Indian team scored only 105 runs in the First Innings and they were still trial by 155 runs .After a steady Partnership between Rahul and Rahane after they both lost their wickets India batsmen fumbled and they lost quick wickets.
Steve O Keefe Created a record in the First Test
Steve O Keefe picked 12 wickets in the match and gave Australia a famous victory in the First Test against India Pune .And by this win Australia had also ended the India’s 19 match unbeaten in tests . Australia kept 441 runs target to India and But India lost both their openers after the lunch with the score on 16. The Skipper Kohlis scored 13 runs and got out and after that Rahane had tried to take attack on the opposition but he got out and he scored 18 runs got out and
Ravichandran Ashwin (8), Wriddhiman Saha (5) and Ravindra Jadeja (3) fell like ninepins, leaving India in all sorts of trouble. O’Keefe did the bulk of the damage by removing both Ashwin and Saha in quick succession while Lyon took care of Jadeja.
Cheteshwar Pujara (31) showed some character and tried to stay in there for as long as possible but O’Keefe had other ideas as he trapped Pujara right in front of the stumps just after tea.
Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma were dismissed by Lyon as India slumped from 89 for five to 107 all out.
And this was the Australia’s first victory in India since the 2004 series and India will have to regroup and rethink about their strategies leading up to the second Test match with the visitors taking a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
Earlier on Saturday Australian skipper Steve Smith struck his first century in India before the visitors were bowled out for 285 in an extended morning session.
India play their second test in Bangalore on March 4. And the final two games are scheduled in Ranchi and Dharmasala.
